Wightlink is supporting kind-hearted members of staff who want to raise money for six selected charities by matching their efforts with a company donation.
Ferry company colleagues nominated their favourite charities, based both on the Isle of Wight and the mainland and voted for the top six. Wightlink has set aside £10,000 for matched funding.
Staff have chosen:
- British Heart Foundation - Research into all heart and circulatory diseases and their causes.
- Feline Welfare Isle of Wight - An Island charity for the welfare, protection and rehoming of cats.
- Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance - Providing critical care and rapid medical response to those in need.
- Safer Waves - Supporting merchant seafarers who have experienced sexual violence, sexual harassment or gender discrimination.
- URBOND – A Portsmouth charity that helps local communities to integrate and support each other.

Wightlink Chief Executive Keith Greenfield said:
“Our colleagues nominated and voted for causes close to their hearts as part of our commitment to community engagement and social responsibility.
"Now, if they organise fundraising events for these six charities, they can apply for match funding to boost their totals.
"We are delighted to support them with a company contribution.”
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance Director of Income and Engagement Keith Wilson says:
“We rely entirely on the generosity and kindness from people in our community to help us be there for thousands of patients every year.
"We are hugely grateful to Wightlink and its staff for choosing to support Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance in our mission to save lives across the region.
“Their support will ensure we can be there for the most critically ill and seriously injured patients who need our help.”
