Vecta House Care Home Lights Up Christmas For Children And Residents Alike

Vecta House Care Home in Newport kicked off this season's festivities with a Christmas Lights ceremony at the weekend.

The fun began with residents' families, friends and staff gathering together around the Christmas tree to embrace the magical moments that were organised throughout the evening.

Summerfields Primary School joined in the celebrations by preforming Christmas carols.

As a thank you to the choir for such an outstanding performance, residents presented each child with a Christmas present.

After everyone indulged in warm mince pies, hot chocolate or mulled wine, they headed outside for the big finale.

Gasps of joy were audible as the front of the home was lit up by bright coloured lights.

The children danced under the snow machine, and through all of the excitement everyone could still hear the bells of magic ringing through the crisp cold air.

Shortly after this, Santa arrived on his sleigh to greet the children and hear their wishes, he then moved inside the home to visit each resident.

Tanya Everson, lifestyle leader at Vecta House Care Home, said:

"This is such a special time of the year and it is our job to deliver a magical and joyful time for both our residents and their families.

"It is important for our residents to keep connected with the community and I would like to thank both Summerfields Primary School and Isle of Wight Round Table for helping us to create such special memories for our beloved residents."
