Newport's WRS Systems has tee-med up with an Isle of Wight golf club steeped in local history.
The company has announced a two-year sponsorship deal with Shanklin and Sandown Golf Club, which will see the organisation receive funding in exchange for WRS branding on its buggies.
The club was originally opened as a nine-hole course in 1900.
A short time later, multi-time Open Golf Champion, James Braid, was called in as an architect to improve and enhance the course.
Alterations and improvements were progressively put in place until 18 holes were eventually completed in 1903.
Since then, Shanklin and Sandown Golf Club has continued to thrive and plays a key role in the community, bringing joy to players across the Island and further afield – with a membership total of more than 600 golfers.
WRS Systems Business Development Manager, Simon Best, said:
"We have a long history of providing businesses on and off the Island with bespoke EPOS solutions to ensure businesses run efficiently, with extensive customer support throughout the journey.
“Supporting Isle of Wight businesses in different ways is something we take great pride in, and we are delighted to be sponsoring Shanklin and Sandown Golf Club.”
