Strings And Platform One Team Up For New Trust To Support Local Musicians In Honour Of Frankie Baker

Newport's Strings Venue will launch the Frankie Baker Trust this coming Thursday (19 December).

The trust has been set up in partnership with Platform One Music College and is named after talented local musician Frankie Baker, who studied at Platform One and was also part of many well liked local bands such as Xockha.

Sadly Frankie passed away in December 2023.

The aim of the trust is to raise money for local musicians and grassroots artists, which may include supporting travel to perform on the mainland or covering recording and rehearsal costs.

An event, held at Strings from 730pm on Thursday, will be headlined by The Ohmz and feature a host of talented support acts.

Entry fee will be a donation to the trust.

You can find out further information on the official event page.
