Storytelling Film Showcases Mountbatten’s Impact

A new film sharing the stories of people supported by local hospice Mountbatten Isle of Wight has been released.

In ‘Your Mountbatten Stories’, several people talk about how they have benefitted from the charity’s wide-ranging care and support services and what Mountbatten means to them.

Chris Browning, who features in the ten-minute film, said:

“Mountbatten means care, compassion, sensitivity, respect, and love. Because they really love what they do, the doctors, nurses, and volunteers.

"Anyone who comes to Mountbatten should be lucky that Mountbatten exists.”

Mountbatten worked with Isle of Wight-based NOSY creative agency to produce the film.

Their previous collaboration ‘Anyone. Anywhere. Anytime’ was shortlisted in the Smiley Charity Film Awards, the world’s biggest campaign to promote cause-based films, winning a bronze award in the People’s Choice category.

Mountbatten Chief Executive, Nigel Hartley, said:

“’Your Mountbatten Stories’ is an incredibly moving film and shows just how important Mountbatten is to the people we support.

"Mountbatten’s work really matters, and the film is both a thank you to our donors, fundraisers, and volunteers for enabling us to care for local people and a call for their continued support.

"We believe that our staff deserve a fair and proper wage for the challenging and relentless work that they do."

The film accompanies the release of Mountbatten’s Annual Review document, which highlights the work undertaken by the charity during the last year, including the impact of the cost-of-living crises, and is available on their website.
