Solent Swim 2024 Applications Closing This Week

Time is running our for thrill-seeking swimmers to apply to join the West Wight Sports and Community Centre Solent Swim Team.

Now in its 14th year, the swim from Hurst Castle to Colwell Bay will take place on Saturday September 14.

Due to the popularity of the event, an application selection process has been implemented for the first time this year, with a waiting list in operation.

Anyone wishing to be considered for the swim must submit their application by this Sunday (February 18).

Successful applicants will be required to pay a non-refundable deposit and raise a minimum sponsorship of £300 towards the work of the West Wight Sports and Community Centre.

The Centre relies on charitable donations and grants to provide wellbeing and fitness activities to the community.

Swimmers are provided with advice, support and resources to achieve their goal and join an elite group of individuals who have swum the Solent.
