Seasonal Sandown Shop Window Success Strikes Chord

A business in Sandown in celebrating after scooping the town's Seasonal Shop Window competition award.

Sandown Town Mayor Alex Lightfoot, along with fellow Town Councillors, presented Guys & Dolls with the traditional Trophy and framed certificate recognising their success

The annual event was once again organised with the help of Sandown Community Association.

Mayor Cllr Alex Lightfoot said:

"It was really good to see so many Shops and Businesses take part this year, and with the designs by local schoolchildren at the library, this has helped in the build-up to this Saturdays Fun Day."

Sandown Town Council has helped support the Fun-Day, worked with the local school on the library window display, as well as helped organise the Christ Church Carol Concert, from 8pm on Wednesday 20 December.

The concert will feature Sandown & Shanklin Military Band; as well as fund the Christmas Tree, decorative lighting, and help towards New Year’s Day events.

Cllr Lightfoot concluded:

"This competition recognises the value of the High Street to the Town, and everyone’s efforts really do make a difference during this festive time.

"My thanks to everyone for contributing to the many events in the Town at this time of year."
