Line dancers and councillors from Sandown celebrated ‘National Heart Month’, on Valentines Day with the publication of a Map of all defibrillators in Sandown, part of the new Sandown Guide, to be delivered to every household in the town this Spring.
Alan Jones, Editor of the guide, said:
“Thanks to Sandown Town Council, and local businesses, for their support in producing the 4 th guide with 48 pages including more information and content than before.”
The Map can be updated as new locations are added in the future, and highlight’s locations of publicly available defibrillators, including those at The Broadway Centre, Sandown Library, as well as at other popular locations.
Sandown Town Mayor, Alex Lightfoot added:
“Providing the community with lifesaving equipment is an essential asset to any town.
"We are proud to be at the heart of today’s celebrations with our community’s line dancers.”
Katrina Kelly, from Line dance IW, concluded:
“We have fundraised for the provision of a Defibrillator at Sandown Independent Lifeboat station.
"As a fitness community group we are proud to be part of such a great cause and encourage the public to be aware of defibrillators available near them”.
The Guide includes details of how to provide CPR, who to contact in an emergency and be directed to the nearest defibrillator location and other vital information.
