Town Mayor Alex Lightfoot said:

"With Remembrance and Armistice Days approaching, we are grateful for the Green Town Volunteers for creating a fitting tribute to memories of those that made the ultimate sacrifice."

Green Volunteer Chair Christine Jackson added:

"Our crafters group wanted to help brighten up the High Street, in advance of the services to be held at the Memorial in November."

Plans and arrangements are already in place for the Remembrance Service on Sunday November 12, on the Esplanade, with the Road being closed early on the morning and before the commencement of the service before 11am.

Memorial Curator, Cllr Baldry, concluded:

"We have replaced the flagpoles damaged in recent storms, and a new Union Flag will also be in place for the November services."
