Ryde Mayor's Charity Fund Proudly Awards £500 to Oakvale Foodshare's Meal Bag Initiative

Ryde Town Council is delighted to announce that Oakvale Foodshare have been granted £500 from the Mayor's Charity Fund to further its mission of providing essential meals to families in need.

This funding will be channelled into creating meal bags that cater to breakfast, lunch, and dinner, ensuring that families have access to meals.

Founder of Oakvale Foodshare, Jacqui Tweitman said:

"I am grateful for the generous support from the Mayor's Charity Fund which allows me to enhance our efforts in addressing food insecurity within our community.

"We will kick start our meal bag initiative launching October half term, alongside the Foodshare stand."

Contributions to the Foodshare stand not only reduce food waste but also extend a compassionate hand to families in need.

Donations can be collected from Ryde, Shanklin, Newport or surrounding areas.

Mayor of Ryde, Cllr May Said:

"Oakvale Foodshare's dedication to addressing food insecurity is truly commendable and we are honoured to support their meal bag initiative.

"Oakvale Foodshare started during the pandemic and continues to help numerous individuals and families.”
