Ryde Academy Students Triumph On A Level Results Day

Sixth Formers from Ryde Academy are today celebrating some exceptional results in their A Levels and CTECs, securing places at some top universities, including Southampton and Surrey.

This is the second year that exams have taken place as normal, but schools across the country are still dealing with the impact of the pandemic.

Staff from Ryde Academy and across AET, a national network of schools, were celebrating some phenomenal results from students, including the quartet dubbed 'The Fabulous Four':

Anna Cockayne

Audacious Anna achieved A’s in Biology and Maths and B in Chemistry.

She also has an A in her EPQ. She is planning to study medicine at Leeds — take a bow!

Ethan Wolfe

Wolfe proved his bite was as powerful as his howl, achieving A in Politics and B’s in History and English.

The wunderkind is planning to study Politics at Southampton.

Tomasz Kozibroda

This tenacious teenager achieved A in English Literature and B’s in History and Politics.

Tom is off to study Law at Surrey university.

Meghan Colleypriest

This superstar student achieved A in extended project, Distinction* in Health and Social Care, B in Biology and C in Maths.

Meghan is going to study Paramedic Science at Gloucester.

To support them and help prepare them for their exams, staff at Ryde Academy laid on additional lessons, holiday sessions and worked with external subject coaches to support individual students to gain the best grades possible.

Principal, Joy Ballard, said:

"We are hugely proud of our students who have worked through a challenging few years to achieve their A-Level and Ctec grades, which will set them up for further success in the future.

"We have students going off to exciting destinations with bright futures ahead of them.

"Hard work has paid off and we wish all our students the best of luck for their next steps."
