Puppy Love: First Ever Woof Awards Announced For Isle Of Wight

Nominations have opened for the first ever Woof Awards Isle of Wight, with dog owners invited to vote for for those involved with canine care.

Supported by Wightlink, the awards aim to give recognition to dog walkers, groomers, pet related businesses, dog boarders and anyone else who has an interest in dogs.

Founded by Island born Mary Jacobs, the awards will be held at Shanklin Conservative club on Saturday 8 March 2025.

Those shortlisted will be notified by next Wednesday (October 16).

Mary runs the UK’s largest animal recognition event, the Animal Star Awards, and has even been to 10 Downing Street to receive a Point of Lights award from then Prime Minister Boris Johnson for services to animals.

Mary said:

“I wanted to bring these awards to the Isle of Wight to give recognition to the people who dedicate themselves to the lives of dogs”

Wightlink is offering complimentary travel for those mainland based finalists invited to the ceremony to allow them to attend,

In addition to supporting the Woof Awards, a Wightlink representative will form part of the judging panel.
