Popular Isle Of Wight Holiday Park To Hold Annual End Of Season Festival This September

The Waverley Holiday Park in East Cowes is to hold its annual festival in September, aiming to raise much-needed funds for a local charity.

The Beer, Music, Poetry and More Beer Festival at the Waverley Holiday Park will see acts take to the stage from September 8-10.

As the name suggests, there will be a large amount of guest beers and ciders available, profits from which will be donated to the Isle of Wight Defibrillator group.

Steve Read from the Isle of Wight Defibrillator group said:

"We are very happy to have been chosen as the charity for this year’s Beer Music, Poetry and More Beer Festival.

"Having access to the defibrillators on the Island can mean the difference between living and dying.

"There are currently just 34 defib units on the Island and it costs between £1,000 to £3,000 install a new one and hundreds to maintain an existing unit."

Entrance is free and the event is open to everyone, with no need to be a member or stay at the Waverly Park to enjoy the festival.

This year’s line up will see headline performances from Island bands such The Bohemians, Bexter, The Damien Paul Band, The Geckos, The Baggywrinkle Blues Band and many more.

Spoken word artists will also take to the stage at Waverley Holiday Park.

Among the nearly 20 beers and ciders will be local favourite from Island Ales, who have donated a barrel of Earl’s RDA and will be supplying the large infrastructure to ensure all the beers are kept at their best condition.

Julian Adams from the Waverley Holiday Park said:

"The Beer, Music, Poetry and More Beer Festival is our way of giving back to the community.

"Over the last 12 years, we have chosen different Island charities to benefit and we are proud of our customers and the performers who have given up their time to support the event and help us raise thousands of pounds each year for charity."
