New Look Esplanade With Banners Raising Biosphere Awareness

Ryde Esplanade now showcases 21 vibrant banners, each featuring unique Isle of Wight UNESCO biosphere species.

Installed by Four Corners and designed by Ryde's children, the banners are sponsored by local businesses.

A testament to community spirit, they raise biosphere awareness and brighten the esplanade.

The Monkton Arts team also used the banners as inspiration for their Mardi Gras entry, dressing up as the different features of the biosphere, such as a reddish buff moth, bluebells, stag beetle and a white tailed eagle.

Further information on the banners can be found online.
