National Accolades For Victorious Vectis At Community Radio Awards

Local community radio station, Vectis Radio, secured four prestigious national awards during the recent Community Radio Awards held in Newcastle.

The station went one better than last year, securing bronze in The Station of the Year category which has seen them take bronze last time out.

The 4PS Radio training school also received a silver in the Community Impact category.

Maggie Currie, a dedicated volunteer, was honoured with the gold award in the Volunteer of the Year category, recognising her invaluable contributions to the station.

Additionally, Phil Norris, who embarked on his radio journey in March of this year, received a well-deserved bronze in the Newcomer of the Year
category.

Ian Mac, Station Manager and a proud member of the Vectis Radio team, remarked:

"I am incredibly proud of our accomplishments, particularly this year.

"Each year, it becomes increasingly challenging to surpass our previous successes, but we'll certainly strive for it once again."

Kelvin Currie, echoing the sentiments of the team, added:

"Accepting the Gold Award for Volunteer of the Year on behalf of my wife, Maggie, was a profoundly special moment.

"We hope she will be present at next year's ceremony to pass on the torch, a fitting tribute to her dedication and commitment to Vectis Radio."
