The eighth annual awards celebrate inspiring films by charities and social enterprises, with the public deciding the People’s Choice Award through free online voting, open until next Wednesday (January 29).
One of those charities is Mountbatten Isle of Wight — the Island's community and hospice end-of-life and palliative care provider.
Inspired by the work of Dame Cicely Saunders (1918-2005), founder of the hospice movement, the organisation we know as Mountbatten Isle of Wight was created in 1982.
Mountbatten has a sister hospice in Southampton, called Mountbatten Hampshire. The two organisations share staff and expertise.
However, donations to and funds raised for Mountbatten Isle of Wight stay on the Isle of Wight.
