Log Your Log Survey And People’s Poo Aquarium Launched

Sandown's National Poo Museum is creating is creating a country-wide touring exhibit, and it's asking Islanders to give a piece of themselves to it — literally.

The Poo Museum is teaming up with Bath University and charity Guts UK to organise a national survey of people's number twos according to the Bristol Stool Scale.

The museum is also building an illuminated aquarium, with a collection of poo on display from people in the local community.

A spokesperson for the Poo Museum said:

"We are aiming to challenge the common view of the negativity surrounding poo by revealing that it's a vital and fascinating part of life on Earth.

"We want to get rid of the taboo around the subject, which costs so many lives every year due to embarrassment about seeking medical help for bowel problems.

"This is a tall order — not to mention a 'big job' — but we have a plan!"

As well as exhibiting those from local residents, the museum is aiming to add a number of 'celebrity' poos to the collection.

It’s interactive - visitors can control the lighting, circulation of the poo spheres and add bubbles, using the controls on the heart-shaped panel. There’ll also be lots of gut health related information and fascinating poo facts!

The launch of The People’s Poo Aquarium will take place at Ryde Library at 2pm on Tuesday March 12.

Members of the public are invited to attend, while Attila the Stockbroker will perform his specially composed poo poems.

The University of Bath will make the Log Your Log citizen science poo survey live at the same time.
