Local Funeral Homes Collaborate With Schools And Community Groups For Remembrance Displays

In a heartfelt collaboration with funeral and memorial consultants, local schools, and community groups, The Southern Coop Funeral Care has adorned its branches with poignant window displays to honour the heroes of our community.

At the Lake branch, school children from the Bay C of E Sandown and Barton Primary School, Newport, have beautifully crafted poppies, paying homage to the fallen heroes.

Additionally, Knit Knacks Lake has contributed intricately knitted poppies, skilfully displayed by the dedicated staff at Lake Funeral Home.

The Phoenix Project has joined hands with Ryde Funeral Home to create a touching display, symbolizing respect and remembrance.

In East Cowes, the branch features Poppy Hand wreaths created by the talented children of Queensgate School, adding a personal touch to the commemoration.

The Newport branch is adorned with poppies meticulously created and coloured by the school children of Barton Primary School, Newport, showcasing their artistic homage to our heroes.

The Shanklin Funeral Home window display, curated by our funeral and memorial consultant, lists the fallen heroes of Shanklin Town.

In a touching gesture, memorial stones crafted by our staff and their grandchildren will be placed around the town in the lead-up to Remembrance Sunday.

Lake Funeral Home extends an open invitation to veterans and the public after the Remembrance Service at Lake War Memorial this Sunday, 12 November.

The parade begins at 2.30pm, followed by the opening of Lake Funeral Home doors. Warm drinks and biscuits will be provided by The Southern Coop FuneralCare as a gesture of appreciation and community support.
