Local Families To Benefit From New Baby Necessities Thanks To Southern Vectis Donation

Southern Vectis is throwing its support behind a local baby bank which provides food, clothes and equipment to families with children, who are experiencing hardship.

The local bus operator’s community fund is donating essential items to Baby Box in Ventnor on the Isle of Wight.

“We give away free baby food, nappies, clothes, equipment and toiletries to families across the Isle of Wight who are in need of those items, and we are grateful for all the donations we receive,” said Marzena Turner from Baby Box.

“At this time of the year, in particular, families are in great need of food and nappies - it’s that basic - and that’s why donations like these are so important.

"This will help multiple children in the local community, and will make a huge difference to the lives of their families.”

Baby Box is an independent charity helping local families who are need.

Although its name suggests its support is limited to the very young, the organisation is there for children right up to their teenage years.

Simon Moye, Southern Vectis operations manager, added:

“Baby Box does a wonderful job helping local families - and this is precisely the type of organisation our community fund is designed to support.

“I’m delighted we have been able to help, so that vulnerable people living in our community have access to essential items during these challenging times.”

The Community Fund is open to applicants twice a year, during May and November.
