With a career spanning six decades, Fred Dinenage has earned his place as one of Britain's most beloved broadcasters.
His journey in television commenced in 1964.
Fast forward six decades, and 2024 marks Fred's 60th anniversary as a revered reporter and TV presenter.
To celebrate this incredible milestone, Jack Up Events is inviting Islanders to celebrate with the man himself — in person — at Shanklin Theatre on Saturday November 2.
Audiences will fondly remember his association with Southern Television, and its subsequent incarnations as TVS and Meridian Broadcasting, which remain a defining thread of Fred’s professional life.
He is also well known popular programs such as 'Tell The Truth' 'How' (and successor 'How 2') and for his time as the face of news on 'Coast To Coast' and later 'Meridian Tonight' and for 'ITV Meridian'.
After a remarkable 39-year tenure presenting ITV regional news across the South, Fred remains a much-loved local figure, however, his contributions extend beyond regional television.
In 2010 Fred was awarded an MBE for his services to Broadcasting.
During this special 60-year anniversary show, the warm and witty Fred will take audiences on an enjoyable journey through his illustrious career featuring many magnificent moments down TV memory lane.
Hear fascinating stories from behind the scenes of many shows and stars that will surprise and entertain you.
For the first time, Fred will also share the truth behind the moments when it wasn't always 'alright on the night' with his hand-picked bloopers and gaffs.
