Today (Sunday) marks Red Squirrel Appreciation Day, with local businesses being invited to support the beloved animals.
The Isle of Wight is a nationally important stronghold for red squirrels and they are a draw for tourists, some of whom have seeing one is on their bucket list.
National Red Squirrel Appreciation Day aims to mark the day by launching the kitemark scheme.
The Red Squirrel Trust's kitemark is an official kite-shaped mark on goods approved by the British Standards Institution.
Businesses signing up get to use the kitemark in return for raising money.
Island Biscuits has successfully contributed to the cause for years by donating a few pence from each box of red squirrel biscuits sold, with an average annual donation of £500.
The Trust will give businesses involved the right to use its kitemark on their premises, website and selected product.
