Join Isle Of Wight College For National Apprenticeship Week

Next week, the Isle of Wight College will be participating in National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) from 5th to 11th February 2024.

This week-long celebration is dedicated to recognising the invaluable contributions of apprenticeships and the exceptional opportunities they provide learners, employers and Island economy and community.

The Isle of Wight College is gearing up to host a series of engaging events, both on-campus and at local schools and businesses, aimed at highlighting the benefits of apprenticeships.

Event Highlights:

Monday February 5: Apprenticeships for All

  • 3:30pm - 5:30pm: Employer drop-in open event (Isle of Wight College, Newport)
  • Online: Parent and Carer information event (online)

Tuesday February 6: Employer Tuesday

  • 11 am – 3pm: Employer Showcase Event (The Isle of Wight College, Newport)
  • existing students are invited to join employers in the LRC (library) who will be showcasing opportunities and offering advice.

Wednesday February 7: Apprentice Wednesday

  • 7.30am - 9am: Employer Apprenticeship Breakfast Event (Business Centre, IW College, Newport) registration closes 5pm Friday February 2: Book here
  • 11am – 5pm: Apprenticeship Information Drop-In event at the Isle of Wight Council buildings

Thursday February 8: T Level Thursday

  • 3.30pm – 5pm: Employer Drop-in event
  • Discover how T-Levels and Apprenticeships can benefit your business (Business Centre IW College)

Friday February 9: Celebration Friday

  • 10am - 2pm: Apprenticeship Q and A (online) busting apprenticeships facts and little-known facts
  • 2pm - 3:30 pm: Engineering apprenticeships at CECAMM, Whippingham drop-in a discover your future career

    Sandown Mayor Alex Lightfoot, and Sandown Town Councillors, organised an end of season thank you and presentation of certificates to Lifeguard & Beach Manager Todd Miller and the team of Lifeguards that provided a beach safety service for residents and visitors to Sandown during the summer.
