Island based design, web and software agency, Brightbulb, has been announced as a national finalist at the 2024 UK Company Culture Awards.

The team received a nomination in the best charitable/corporate social responsibility initiative for its Mince Pie Marathon charity event.

The UK Company Culture Awards recognises organisations across the country that nurture their workforce, reward staff and create an environment that proves everyone is valued.

It celebrates workplaces that strive to care for employees' career development, mental health and physical well-being.

Brightbulb Managing Director, Matthew Jeffery, said:

“We are really excited to see Brightbulb’s Mince Pie Marathon nominated for a national award - it puts our event alongside some remarkable UK initiatives.

"Our team put so much effort into the event, every single year and we are thrilled for it to be recognised on a national level.

"We are proud to represent the Isle of Wight as the only Island based business at the awards.”

Brightbulb has been nominated alongside Berry Bros & Rudd, Oban International/YMCA DownsLink Group and Redbrain & Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

The category recognises the work businesses and in-house teams do to support their local community or charity of choice.

The Mince Pie Marathon initiative was created by Brightbulb four years ago to help raise money for brain tumour charity The Wight Brainy Bunch.

The event has engaged businesses and members of the community on and off the Island through the sale and delivery of mince pies, helping raise close to £25,000 to date.

Brightbulb Head of Happiness, Fiona Jeffery, added:

“The Mince Pie Marathon is a big part of our company culture at Brightbulb.

"The whole team enjoys getting behind it and promoting the event. It creates an incredible team bond and helps with our own CSR as a growing UK business.”

The winners will be announced at an awards gala evening on Thursday May 2 at the Sheraton Grand in London's Park Lane.
