Wednesday evening (August 9) saw the West Wight Road Runners host a Let's All Run Together (LART) event.

They invited all Island runners to join them for a choice of a 5.5-mile run or a shorter three-mile route.

An impressive 80 people turned up for the event.

Clubs represented included: Wootton Bridge Runners, Ryde Harriers, Vectis Acadamy, Wight Tri, IW Road Runners, Dark Star and West Wight Road Runners.

The majority of runners headed up to the Tennyson Monument and then through Afton Marsh.

At the end everyone was welcomed to enjoy refreshments including lots of home made cakes from the West Wight Road Runners.

West Wight Road Runners Captain Gemma Swain, said:

'There's such a big running community here on the Island and it's really great to all get together for a fun run like this and then socialise afterwards.

"Our special thanks go to the West Wight Sports Centre for allowing us to host the event there."
