Isle Of Wight Disability Cricket Heroes Face Season Finale Title Clash This Weekend

The Isle of Wight's Super 9 Disability Team will go head-to-head with Essex this weekend, in a top of the table play-off game.

The match between the two table toppers takes place this Sunday (August 20) at Northwood Cricket Club .

The game starts at 1pm, with people urged to turn up and support the team in what promises to be a fantastic game,

the cricket club is inviting people to bring a chair and enjoy the excellent facilities provided by Northwood CC, while cheering on our local heroes.

The Isle of Wight has a great tradition in offering cricket to individuals with disabilities and has had great successes on the pitch over the years.

Working with partners such as the ECB, Lord’s Taverners and Chance to Shine, a programme has been developed which offers cricketing opportunities to make the game more accessible.

The Island's Super 9s team also uses Newclose as its training base in the summer months as well as using the venue to hosting the Island’s table cricket competitions.
