Isle of Wight author Jo Cooper sold the 1,000th copy of her book "A Red Sky" on Saturday December 21 at the Ventnor Baptist Church Christmas Fair.
The lucky customers were Mr and Mrs Brown from Ventnor.
Jo said:
"I sold the first copy of the book in June 2022 and, with my husband Bob, we have attended most of the shows and lots of craft fairs around the Island and have achieved this fantastic result by self promoting the book and speaking to people.
"I have signed personally to the customer probably 95% of these sales, and in doing so met so many interesting people, many of whom tell me tales of their relative or friend who was an evacuee in the Second World War, thus giving credence to my stories.
"I have now written two more books about Lindy and Reggie's exploits.
"This has been a great adventure and shows what you can do if you put yourself 'out there'".
