An Islander Christened the 'Hungarian Hulk' has successfully qualified for the prestigious 2025 English Bench Press Championship.
Frank Ferenc Schlepp secured his spot by earning a silver medal at the South East Bench 2024 competition, held in Gillingham on September 22, coinciding with this year's Autumn Equinox.
In an intense field of competitors, Frank’s dedication to his training and preparation paid off.
His performance earned him the qualifying result needed to enter the upcoming 2025 championship.
Looking ahead to next year's event, Frank said:
"I'm determined to push even further and to get one step closer to his ultimate goal.
"I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to my wife, who has been my pillar of strength, always standing by my side and supporting my ambitions.

As Frank looks toward the future, the 'Hungarian Hulk' is ready to take on new challenges in 2025 with his eyes firmly set on national gold.
The 2025 English Bench Press Championship will be part of the Sheffield Powerlifting Championships, which will take place with 12 men and 12 women competing in a night of bench presses, deadlifts, and squats.
The competitors will aim to achieve the highest total weight across all three lifts
