Island Roads Fundraisers Give Beaulieu A Boost

Island Roads staff have donated nearly £900 to Beaulieu Respite following a year’s worth of fundraising for the Newport-based charity.

The money was raised through a number of staff activities included quizzes, various office sweepstakes, cake sales and raffles.

Members of Island Roads fundraising team handed over a cheque for £883.03 to Tony Wake, chairman of Beaulieu Respite, the fundraising body that supports Beaulieu House.

The charity is a children’s home and respite centre for Island children and young people with severe and challenging disabilities.

Tony said:

“It is a fantastic amount that will help us provide our children with new activities such as play equipment and days out.

“Other Island Roads staff have supported us in other ways over the years.

"They are a great bunch of people and we are very grateful for all the assistance we have received – it makes a huge difference.”

Each year, Island Roads staff vote on the charity they wish to support throughout the year and Beaulieu Respite was chosen for 2023.

Nathaniel Saunders, a member of the staff fundraising committee, said:

“We all know what a fantastic job Beaulieu House staff and volunteers do so we were delighted to be able to help them out.

"We hope the money brings a lot of joy to Beaulieu children and young people.”

Island Roads staff have chosen the IW Air Ambulance as their charity for 2024.
