Island Business Reaches New High With Opening Of Japan Office

An Isle of Wight company is reaching new heights as it opens its new office in Japan.

Shanklin technology company Innovative Physics is a world leader in AI and pattern recognition, and has now established new permanent presences in Virginia, USA and Tokyo, Japan, along with a liaison office in Seoul, South Korea.

The offices will help the company, which develops cutting-edge technology solutions in the civil nuclear, homeland security and medical sectors, serve existing international clients and generate new business in two critical geographical markets.

The Japanese office is the result of working in the country for well over a decade. In 2013 Innovative Physics was commissioned to supply ground-breaking radiation detection equipment to assist the clean-up of the Fukushima Nuclear Power Station following the 2011 tsunami.

Victoria Anderson Matthews, Innovative Physics Director of Business Development and Administration, said:

“We are thrilled that after over a decade of work and collaboration in Japan, we now have a dedicated office in-country.

“Over the past 10+ years, our team has been deeply engaged with Japanese partners, clients, and projects, fostering ground-breaking advancements in the world of physics and technology.

“The strong relationships we've built during this time have laid the foundation for this incredible milestone and our decision to establish a formal presence in Japan reflects our commitment to further strengthening these connections, driving innovation, and bringing even greater value to the Japanese market.

“The liaison office in South Korea has allowed us to bring on more distributors for our range of radiation detector products and enhance regional relationships further. Our customers love the fact that we are investing our time in opening offices which has also helped the business to grow relationships.”

Innovative Physics retains its UK HQ at Landguard Manor in Shanklin which is home to 15 staff. Altogether, the company now employs 20 people.

Victoria added:

“It has been an incredible journey from our beginnings at Shanklin and we would like to thank all those who have helped our expansion into important new markets culminating in the opening of these new offices.

"It really is an exciting time for the company and we are pleased to be flying the Isle of Wight’s flag on either side of the globe.”
