Glowing Ofsted Report For St Helens Primary School

An Isle of Wight school has received a glowing Ofsted report.

St Helens Primary School has been recognised as good in all areas with personal development receiving an
outstanding grade.

Head teacher, Mr Wake, said he was delighted with the result that reflected the team effort from the whole school community.

He stressed the importance of the staff, pupils, parents, governors and the St Helens community in general for their continued efforts who are all extremely proud of these statements.

Among comments from inspectors were the following:

"Pupils are polite and cheerful and arrive at school excited for the day ahead. They demonstrate the school’s value of respect in all they do.

"Pupils behave well and live up to the school’s high expectations and are keen to learn and achieve well.

"Strong relationships exist between pupils of all ages; they look forward to their time together and value how it creates new friendships.

"Teaching staff are ever mindful about making the most of the school’s location.

"Leaders have prioritised safeguarding throughout the school and staff are well trained. Pupils learn about ways to keep themselves safe and who their trusted adults are."

Behaviour and attitudes: Good
Personal development: Outstanding
Leadership and management: Good
Early years provision: Good
Previous inspection grade: Good.
