Food Glorious Food — Lit Feast Offering Tasty Addition To Festival Programme

Cookery books are regularly at the top of the best seller lists and the chefs who produce them are massive stars.

This year’s Isle of Wight Literary Festival, being held at Northwood House from October 5-8, has added a tasty ingredient to its programme with Lit Feast — a series of talks and demonstrations by top food and drink writers.

There is a local flavour to the offering, with Island chef Robert Thompson, who was one of the youngest to ever be awarded a Michelin star.

Robert will be preparing some mouthwatering dishes using Isle of Wight ingredients in the Lit Feast marquee on Saturday morning.

Star chef and author Rosemary Shrager will be cooking up a storm on Saturday afternoon.

The Star of I’m a Celebrity… and Cooking with the Stars will be bringing her exuberant style to the festival.

Skye McAlpine will be exploring the connection between Food and Love in her talk and Helen McGinn, wine expert on Saturday Kitchen, is a visitor on the opening Thursday.

For fans of baking, Melanie Johnson will be speaking about her book Bundt: 120 Recipes for Every Occasion, from Everyday Bakes to Fabulous Celebration Cakes, and Cathy Gayner will talk us through fool proof pastry and perfect souffles.

Tickets for Lit Feast can be purchased online.
