Esplanade Launches Permanent Fundraising Promise To Mountbatten

Esplanade Sales Team launching the Mountbatten Fundraising Promise

Cowes based Esplanade has revealed its new, long-term fundraising partnership to support Newport's end-of life charity Mountbatten.

The charity has provided support to the families of many of the car dealership's staff and customers.

In recognition of the important role it plays within our Island community Esplanade have chosen to support the charity by making a donation for every vehicle sold from July 2023 onwards.

Every vehicle sold, new and used, will result in a donation being made by Esplanade which they hope will amount to around £20,000 per annum.

There will also be further opportunity for each donation to be value matched by customers.

Sales Manager of Esplanade, Brendan Cole, said:

“Until I met (Mountbatten CEO) Nigel Hartley, I had never fully understood just how much funding was required, year on year, to maintain the astonishing levels of care they provide.

"The work they do, and the dedication of the amazing team, is truly exceptional and deeply humbling.

"As an organisation that only works in island communities, we fully appreciate the importance of supporting, and investing in, our local community."

Mountbatten CEO, Nigel Harley, added:

“We are incredibly grateful to Esplanade for supporting us with this initiative.

“We must raise over £11 million every year to fund our services on the Island and that cost will go up as we reach more people who need our care.

“This commitment from Esplanade will be so valuable to us, not just financially but in helping to spread the word about our work and our message."
