East Cowes Town Councillor Cameron Palin Named Finalist For National Young Councillor Of The Year

Cameron Palin has been named a Young Councillor of the Year finalist for the National Association of Local Councils’ (NALC) Star council awards 2023.

Cllr Keith Stevens, NALC chair, commented on the announcement and said,

“Congratulations to young Councillor Cameron Palin.

"Your outstanding achievements have placed you among the best in your field, and this recognition is well-deserved.

"Best of luck for the awards ceremony - your achievements serve and an inspiration to us all!”

The prestigious awards are the only ones in England that recognise the local (Parish and Town) council sector.

They celebrate local councils, councillors, young councillors, clerks, and county associations’ positive impact on their communities.

Cllr Cameron Palin said:

“I feel absolutely honoured and humbled to be one of the 5 finalists for the Young Councillor of the Year Award!

"All the work I do as a town councillor is because of my love and passion for my town and community. I never expected to have the privilege to be a finalist.”

The winners of the Star Council Awards will be announced during NALC’S highly anticipated Parliamentary reception, which will take place on 29 November at the House of Lords.

More information about the awards can be found online.
