Choir Hits Right Notes With Hefty Donation To Museum Of Ryde

Brian Harris receiving donation from Bob Cooper with support of volunteer at the Museum Alan Brading and Choir members, Lionel Whitehead and Fred Hellard.

Ryde Museum, based in Victoria Arcade on Union Street, has received a kind donation of £500 from the Newchurch Male Choir.

The cheque was presented to Brian Harris, chair of the museum, by Bob Cooper - the museum's vice chair.

Money was raised from donations received at a recent concert by the Newchurch Male Voice Choir and young soloist Will Kent.

Brian Harris said:

"This donation will enable the Museum to continue to provide the History of Ryde and the unique collection of Donald McGill saucy postcards that our visitors enjoy.

"The Museum has to rely on such donations and visitors to be able to maintain our service as it does not receive any grants.

"I sincerly thank the choir for this support".
