Newport's Ale House played host to the presentation of the Pub and Beer of the Year by CAMRA Isle of Wight.
This annual awards ceremony aims to recognise the best Island pubs and beers, and, as a popularity poll, reflect the opinion of the local community.
Winners and runners-up get a framed certificate so their customers know they’re in a well-regarded establishment.
Top pub for 2023 went to the Newport Ale House, one of the new breed of micro-pubs which are a reincarnation of the old beer houses - small, basic, friendly and offering a fine range of beers.
The Ale House was closely followed by the Castle in Sandown, Traveller’s Joy at Northwood and the High Down, Totland.
Top Beer honours went to Goddards for Fuggle-de-dum, with Island RDA, Goddards Puncheon Porter and Island Yachtsman in its slipstream.
Isle of Wight MP Bob Seely presented the awards in a packed Ale House.
