Brightbulb's Mince Pie Marathon Delivers Festive Cheer For Wight Brainy Bunch

The team at Brightbulb Design completed its annual Mince Pie Marathon this week.

The event once again brought festive spirit to the community while raising more than £3,500 for local brain tumour charity, the Wight Brainy Bunch.

The market leading Island-based design and digital studio joined forces with event sponsors Yokogawa Marex, Raven Print and Wight Productions to deliver thousands of mince pies across the Isle of Wight on Wednesday (December 11).

Kathryn Grimes, who co-founded the Wight Brainy Bunch with her husband Mark, assisted by delivering pies to Shanklin, Sandown, and Ventnor.

She said:

“For a small Island charity, it is crucial to engage our community with fun and meaningful events to sustain the support we need.

"The Mince Pie Marathon not only allows us to connect with businesses and residents but also helps amplify our message through Brightbulb’s efforts.

"This event creates opportunities for future sponsorships and donations while raising much-needed funds.”

Now in its fifth year, the Mince Pie Marathon has raised nearly £30,000 for the Wight Brainy Bunch, funding essential services such as support groups, physiotherapy, counselling, transportation costs, and small grants to assist families facing the challenges of a brain tumour diagnosis.

A heartfelt highlight of this year’s event was John’s Team from the Isle of Wight Council, who participated in memory of a former colleague who lost his life to a brain tumour.

Their generous donation stood out as a tribute to his legacy.

Brightbulb’s Managing Director, Matt Jeffery, said:

“Charity work is at the heart of what we do at Brightbulb.

"The Mince Pie Marathon represents months of planning and hard work to create something magical for our community at Christmas.

"It’s an incredible way to give back and support the Wight Brainy Bunch during a challenging time of year for many charities.”

The Mince Pie Marathon continues to showcases the power of community collaboration and generosity during the festive season.
