Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra Captivates Pupils At Dover Park Primary School

Dover Park Primary School in Ryde recently welcomed a talented quartet from the renowned Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra for a special performance and workshop with its pupils.

On November 28, the musicians from the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra visited Dover Park, delighting the entire school with a captivating assembly performance.

The children learnt all about the instruments being played and joined the quartet in song.

Following the assembly, the talented musicians conducted workshops with 12 children from Key Stage 2, providing them with a unique and enriching educational experience, which was inspiring.

"The children were absolutely captivated and we are extremely grateful to the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra for providing this opportunity," said Jon Kirby, the headteacher of Dover Park Primary School.

"I'd also like to thank the Southampton and Isle of Wight Music Hub for all of their support to make events like this happen across the island."

The visit from the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra is part of the school's ongoing efforts to expose its pupils to a diverse range of cultural experiences and to foster a love of music and the arts.

By collaborating with renowned artistic institutions, Dover Park Primary School aims to inspire and engage its pupils, opening their eyes to the vast potential of the creative arts.
