Bells Ringing Out At Island Churches As Abbey Brass Announce Trio Of Performances

The sounds of Christmas will ring out at three Island churches in December thanks to a local brass band.

Abbey Brass will perform Christmas-themed concerts at Newport Salvation Army Church tomorrow (Wednesday December 6) at 7.30pm, Wootton Methodist Church (17) at 3pm and Binstead Methodist Church (20) at 7.30pm.

The concerts will include a mixture of carols and a varied selection of other traditional and more modern festive tunes.

Abbey Brass musical director Phillip Littlemore said:

“There is something special about hearing the sound of a brass band at Christmas.

"We are looking forward to entertaining audiences with some new arrangements of traditional Christmas music together with some familiar festive pieces and carols - there will be something for everyone.”

Admission to all concerts is free, with retiring collections in aid of church and band funds.
