An Isle of Wight diving club on the cusp of a notable landmark is inviting new members to join.
Wight Dolphins, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary next year, currently has around 45 members with a diverse experience from absolute beginners to highly competent and highly qualified divers and is a friendly and sociable club.
Wight Dolphins offers not only the opportunity for absolute beginners to try a dive experience through their try dive sessions but also to learn to dive through BSAC accredited training courses that are provided locally by club members.
It also encourages ongoing skills development and offers divers that have not used their skills for a period of time to return to diving, regardless of the roots of their qualification.
There is the opportunity for cross over qualifications from other diving providers if desired and the club is really keen just to get people back to diving again and increase its membership.
Wight Dolphins offers regular shore dives and diving from the club boat, both around the Island and mainland locations.
It also arranges trips around the UK and abroad and last year the club went to Egypt for a weeks diving in the Red Sea.
This year, trips to Lundy Island and Malta are being organised and next year to celebrate the 50th anniversary a trip for members and non-diving family members is being planned to Mexico.
A spokesperson for Wight Dolphins said:
"The colours and breadth of marine life in the sea around the Island alone is incredible and probably unexpected to those that have never experienced it.
"We would like to encourage people to join our diving community."
