Age UK Urging Islanders Who Haven't Used To Winter Payment To Donate And Spread The Warmth

Age UK Isle of Wight is encouraging people to make 2024 a year of doing something amazing and giving back to those in need.

The local independent charity is calling on Island residents who haven’t yet needed to use their Winter Fuel Payment to consider donating it, or some of it, to help them support older local people who are isolated and lonely.

The annual, tax-free payment is automatically received by individuals born before 25 September 1957, regardless of their financial circumstances.

Instead of letting it go unused, why not make a difference by donating it to a local independent charity that can use it to provide essential services to those in need this winter?

As the Winter season is in full swing, Age UK Isle of Wight have launched their Spread The Warmth campaign to recognise the importance of ensuring that older people in our community have the necessary resources to stay warm and well.

By donating your winter fuel payment, individuals can make a significant difference in Age UK Isle of Wight’s ability to provide services to older residents on the Isle of Wight.

"We understand that not everyone requires their winter fuel payment immediately, and we encourage those who are in the fortunate position to do so, to consider donating it to support our most vulnerable older residents," said Maria Bunce, Chief Officer at Age UK Isle of Wight.

"By spreading your warmth, you can make a real difference in the lives of those who may be feeling isolated and alone during this challenging time of year."

The Spread The Warmth campaign by Age UK Isle of Wight will run until the end of March 2024.
