Acts Announced For Ryde's Big Beach Weekender

Organisers have now confirmed the line up for this summer's Big Beach Weekend on Ryde's Harbour Beach.

The three-day series of outdoor concerts is a twist on previous concept The Woodland Sessions, which ran successfully at Robin Hill in 2021 and 2022, but were forced to move by the closure of the country park.

The three shows - which take place from July 11 to 13 - will include stand up comedy, a 90s beach party and a current dance music night.

Big Beach Comedy kicks off the series on Thursday July 11 with the Island’s biggest comedy line up of the year, comprising well known TV comedians/ comic actors Maisie Adam, Dylan Moran, Hal Cruttenden and Harriet Kemsley.

Big Beach Party on Friday July 12 sees the popular return to the Island of the hugely in demand, Rhythm Of The 90s, the UK’s undisputed number one 90s dance covers party starters.

The culmination of the event, Big Beach Dance, promises an exhilarating night for dance music lovers on Saturday July 13, with the undisputed godfather of Drum and Bass, Andy C headlining, accompanied by MC Tonn Piper hosting.

Support is provided by rising star DJ Lens, who is at the forefront of a new wave of female dance music talent.

The evening will also feature Dynamite MC, who appeared with Sigma in 2022 and is one of the biggest names in the global MC world, collaborating with many giants of dance music in the process.

Event producer, Keith Penny, said:

“We’re delighted to be relaunching our shows in Ryde this summer with a cracking line up of exceptional talent.

"From four top stand up comedians to the world’s biggest and most enduring DnB DJ, Andy C, who is returning to the Island for the first time since playing Bestival here 10 years ago.

"Not many covers bands can grace main stages at festivals like Victorious, or sell out venues like Portsmouth Guildhall, in the way that Rhythm Of The 90’s do.

"We’re very grateful for the fantastic support and encouragement that we have received from both Ryde Town Council and the general public, since news of the move to Ryde broke last year ”

Mayor of Ryde, Richard May, said:

“We’re delighted that Ryde is hosting yet another significant event, and Harbour Beach is a stunning venue to compliment The Big Beach Weekender line-up."

Tickets are now on sale online.
