The Isle of Wight's beloved annual Hedgelaying Competition, due to take place on Saturday (February 24), has been postponed until next year.
Co-organiser Matthew Chatfield of the Isle of Wight Hedgerow Group said:
"We are very sorry to announce we will not be holding the competition in 2024.
"I appreciate this will be a disappointment to many, and we would like to thank all the competitors and others for their patience this year.
"The good news is that we have secured a site for 2025 already and so I can confirm that the 2025 competition will be held on Saturday 22 February 2025, at Parkdown Barns, Calbourne Road, Newport by kind permission of Mr and Mrs Mike Morris.
"This is the site we visited in 2015 and 2016 which proved to be a very popular location with well-attended events.
"We look forward to welcoming you to the competition next year."
