This Saturday evening (April 19) will see Sandown Carnival’s Easter Fireworks 'Eggstravaganza' launched from the end of the pier.

Spectators are advised to arrive in time for an 8.30pm start to claim a good spot in safe viewing areas along the town’s Esplanade and seafront.

The Carnival, a non-profit community group, charges no entry fee but donations are invited on the day or via www.sandowncarnival.com/easter where further details and travel advice can be found.

Sandown Carnival Chair Paul Coueslant said:

"In partnership with Sandown Pier, we're delighted to have re-arranged the spectacular display we had to postpone on New Year’s Day because of the weather.
"Easter Saturday provides the perfect holiday opportunity to visit Sandown and round off the day witnessing one the Island’s favourite fireworks events.
"We can’t wait to see everyone".
