Mountbatten this Christmas

During the festive season, take time to remember and celebrate the life of someone who has died.

Light up a Life is for everyone – not only for patients and families we have helped. It’s your opportunity to remember and celebrate the life of someone dear to you.
We invite you to dedicate a light on our Remembrance Tree and join us at 4pm on Sunday, December 1st for our Light up a Life service* where our tree will be lit and we will light candles in memory of all those we have loved and lost. We welcome people of all faiths and no faith and the service is for anyone who wishes to attend. If you are missing someone this Christmas, Light up a Life offers a way to remember them.
When you dedicate a light, your loved one’s name will be included in our Book of Remembrance, which is on display at Mountbatten Hospice throughout December. For many, dedicating a light on our Remembrance Tree and seeing a written dedication in our Book of Remembrance can be a special way of showing that although someone is gone, they are not forgotten.
If you would like a permanent memorial to your loved one, you can also choose to dedicate a leaf on our new Mountbatten Memory Tree displayed all year round outside the Chapel at Mountbatten Hospice. Visit mountbatten.org.uk/memory-tree for more information.
However you choose to make a dedication to your loved one, your donation will go towards ensuring the future of Mountbatten remains secure for Island people. The number of people needing our services has increased by 50% in the last 18 months. We now support over 1,400 people on any one day and this rise in need is set to continue. We need your help to make sure our growing services continue to be available in the future, for free, when Islanders need us most.
This Christmas, we will be there to bring peace, comfort and dignity to our patients and their families, many of whom will be spending Christmas together for the last time. Thanks to your kind donations, more Island people will receive the very best care when facing death, dying and bereavement.
*Please note: this is an outdoor service so make sure to wrap up warmly. Refreshments will be available in our Sunflower Cafe 3pm-6pm. Disabled parking only in the Mountbatten Hospice car park. A free Park & Ride service will be in operation from Seaclose Recreation Ground (PO30 2QS) 3pm-6pm. Spaces are limited so please be prepared to find alternative parking.

From all of us at Mountbatten… thank you
