Last weekend saw Sandown & Shanklin RFC Vets clinch the Hampshire Vets Cup in style, overpowering Petersfield RFC Vets 80 - 22 in a thrilling match.
Centre Luke Chandler stole the show with a remarkable display, crossing the try line an impressive six times.
Andy White showcased his prowess with the Hurricanes second score of the afternoon.
If one wasn't enough, a second Luke — Hunter — lived up to his surname, treating opposition players as if they were prey within his crosshairs.
His sumptuous and remarkable try followed a mesmeric chip from fly-half Gary Warvill — the genius later named Wightfibre Man of the Match, rolling back the years with a stellar performance, including a sensational try for himself.
It's little wonder Warvill is regarded as one of the greatest players in the club's history, and hopefully one who will continue to play for another decade at least.
The first half ended with spellbinding Sandown leading 31-10.
The second half saw the floodgates open further, with Joe Rees, Dan Taylor, and club icon Adam Tyas scoring tries.
Adam's try was his first try for the club in more than a decade!
Warvill put the finishing touches onto the masterpiece with another try as the Hurricanes sealed a convincing 80 - 22 victory to once again prove their standing as one of the community's greatest organisations.
