Isle Of Wight Group The Pill Release Debut Single

Isle of Wight punk band, The Pill, have released their debut single ahead of a summer of south coast performances and shows in Oxford and London.

Bale of Hay has already has already been played on BBC Radio 6 Music and Radio X.

Radio X’s John Kennedy said of The Pill and their new track:

“(The song sounds) fantastic (and) I can’t wait to hear more from them.” 

Bale of Hay is described by the band as a “noisy checklist about the realities of being blonde" and is perfect for fans of Amyl and the Sniffers, The Slits, Otoboke Beaver and Beastie Boys.

Fronted by singers and guitarists Lily Hutchings and Lottie Massey, The Pill's line-up also includes Rufus Reader, on drums.

Bale of Hay was recorded at Empire Studios in Newport and was produced by Rob and Jim Homes - who are known as BoeWeaver.

The Pill said:

"It’s been a LONG time coming, but the reception has been amazing and we’re so excited to start our creative journey as The Pill.

“We wrote Bale of Hay back in early 2020 and it’s so crazy that she’s now out in the big blue.

"May our child grow and prosper.”
