Challenge and Adventure will benefit from a Christmas fayre held at the old grammar school in Newport on Saturday, November 24th. For the first time in a long time, the historic building at 118-119 St James Street will be opened up to host the event, which will run as part of Newport Christmas Carnival.
A traditional German beer festival and buffet will raise funds for Challenge & Adventure on October 13th.
Oktoberfest takes place at Gurnard Pines and will feature oompah band The Barry Schmidt Bavarian Band. Tickets are £25 and include food and a stein to keep.

Put your knowledge to the test in the Huge Challenging Quiz at Gurnard Pines on October 19th. In aid of Challenge & Adventure, there will be prizes up for grabs as well as a giant raffle. Tom Stroud will be quiz master on the night, delivering ten rounds of questions set by Malcolm Randell. Entry is £20 for a team of four.

A festival of Island food and drink will take place as part of this year’s Isle of Wight Day celebrations.
Over the weekend of September 22nd and 23rd, the festival will be held on the edge of Bembridge Harbour, at BSC (PO35 5NR) with stalls, street food and more.
The event will be opened by Robin Courage MBE at 12pm on the Saturday. Open between 10am and 5pm on the Saturday and 10am to 3.30pm on the Sunday, entry is £3 and under 14s go free. There will be free entry to all after 2pm on the Sunday.
