It’s time for curious celebrations

Visitors to Blackgang Chine, the oldest theme park in the country, are in for a real treat this season as the park celebrates its 175th anniversary with lots of exciting events and activities planned throughout the year, including a brand-new adventure, as the story of Blackgang Chine and the Curious Timeboat unfolds.

A mischievous pirate of the past and his scatty inventor friend need your help to find crystals to fuel their ship, as they embark on a journey through time. The mismatched duo and their curious Timeboat will be at every special event throughout the year at Blackgang Chine, as part of the 175th birthday celebrations, looking for fuel to send them onto their next destination. They’ve already crash-landed at Chinese New Year, and are now on their way to Blackgang’s Easter Celebrations.

Easter Holidays are packed full of great entertainment for all the family at Robin Hill and Blackgang. Whether you’re looking for chocolatey treats or adventurous family days out, the parks have it covered, and there is something for everyone.

Join the madness at Robin Hill, with the Mad Easter Egg Dash on Easter Sunday and Monday, April 1st and 2nd. The Easter bunny will be out and hiding tokens in the park, with the help of his Squawk bird friends, for the children to find in two dashes each day.

Little ones will be invited to join in the fun at 12.00noon, and the over six-year-olds can come and have their turn to hunt for tokens and win their prizes at 2.00pm. With a huge range of prizes, nobody will go home empty handed!

Plus, every day (excluding Dash days) visitors can take part in a Squawks Easter Trail. Find all the clues hidden in the park and complete the entry form. The first 50 correct entries per day win a prize and all correct entries will be entered into the grand prize draw for four Eklectica Music Festival Tickets! The draw will take place on April 16th.

Then head over to Blackgang Chine and become an Easter Eggsplorer every Tuesday and Wednesday during the Easter Holidays (April 3rd, 4th, 10th and 11th). See the park through new eyes and join the quest around Blackgang to discover how Dodos came to Blackgang Chine. Dust off your magnifying glasses and make archaeological discoveries as you search through the sand and uncover hidden critters in a fun Explorer Digs activity.

Dodo Valley will be returning more adventurous than ever, as Lady Penelope and Rafus will be on hand to celebrate the official opening on Tuesday, April 3rd. There will be two bouncy net bridges to get you across Dodo Valley ravine, to put a spring in your step this spring!
